Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Thursday his government is for fixing the number and boundaries of local bodies within Asoj (mid-October, 2016). Prachanda said this in his first address to the Parliament after becoming PM.
Local Level Restructuring Commission has proposed creation 565 local levels, but major parties are yet to come to an agreement on the issue.
At the same time, Prachanda also asked all political parties to create a conducive environment for elections.
He requested political parties to create a conducive environment for elections without bothering about political gains or losses.
Prachanda said he was in constant talks with the Election Commission, adding that his government was committed to conducting elections — local, provincial and federal — within Magh 7, 2074 (January 21, 2018).
In his address, PM Prachanda said he was against wasting much time in the name of talks, stressing the need to reach an understanding without delay.
