Kathmandu, October 13
Election Commission has prohibited organising pre-poll surveys about the House of Representatives and provincial assembly election results in any constituency.
Arguing that such activities would affect the fairness of the election process, the constitutional body says if anyone is found doing such surveys and polls, they will be punished as per the law.
The commission says its monitoring has found some agencies conducting such surveys, thereby violating the election code of conduct.
The code of conduct has it that no one is allowed to conduct surveys about election results between the filing of nominations and the completion of voting.
