Kathmandu, May 2

Octave Kathmandu, a rooftop lounge bar and restaurant in Durbarmarg, has launched a promotional campaign called the Octave Foodie Challenge.

The restaurant is giving one food blogger and one customer the chance of winning an all-expenses trip to Bangkok, Thailand. The campaign that started on April 7 will run until June 7.

Octave has teamed up with eight Nepali food bloggers to promote the venue in order to boost customer intake after the pandemic. The food bloggers will promote Octave on their social media and encourage their followers to visit Octave and vote for them in the contest.

After the voting period, the blogger with the most votes will then randomly pick out a lucky customer from their votes and the two will share a foodie trip to Bangkok, all expenses paid.

With this incredible trip to Thailand, Octave foresees that the winning blogger and customer will learn and experience a range of new food items on the streets of Bangkok and that the blogger will then be able to share these new items with their followers and Octave, and allow Octave to further expands its already varied menu.

“This is a huge opportunity for the winning customer and blogger to travel and experience another country after two difficult years of the pandemic and is the biggest contest of its kind offered at the moment in Kathmandu by a similar venue,” says Alicia Shortman, the project coordinator at Octave Kathmandu.

In order to participate, customers simply need to visit Octave and vote for their favourite blogger upon paying. The amount of votes that a customer can cast depends on how much they spend.

For example, if they spend between Rs 1,000 – Rs 1,999, they will receive one voting card, or if they spend between Rs 2,000 – Rs 2,999, they will receive two voting cards and so on. Customers will leave their names and contact details on their voting cards so they can be contacted should they be chosen at the end of the voting period.
