OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G in Nepal: Funky colours and Snapdragon 695 chipset might be strong appeals

OnePlus has released its mid-range smartphone, OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, in India. It is soon to be launched in Nepal in the same section. The funky colour option and Snapdragon 695 chipset are sure to appeal to as many people as possible. With other smartphone companies also releasing different mid-range products, OnePlus sure is to be a tough competitor and is likely to make a comeback in the smartphone market of Nepal.

Design and display

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite has a boxy curved design, which looks very elegant with a glossy back. It has a triple camera setup on the back. But the main camera is placed in one black ring and the other two— depth and macro cameras— in another black ring. The plastic frame is smooth and has a classy clean finish. It goes along with the glossy back, which is also made up of plastic. The front of the phone has a hole-punch selfie camera cutout and thin bezels for the mid-range price point.

Nord CE 3 Lite has a 6.72-inch IPS LCD display. It has a resolution of 2400X1080 pixels with 391ppi and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The refresh rate is 120Hz and the touch response rate is 240Hz. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, which is resistant to light drops from the pocket or hand.

Performance and storage

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G has a Snapdragon 695 5G chipset with an octa-core CPU. The graphics are handled by Adreno 619, which, along with the chipset and CPU, gives very good performance for day-to-day activities and also heavy work such as gaming. The OS is Android 13 topped off with Oxygen OS 13.1.

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is available in only one RAM variant of 8GB. It comes with a virtual RAM feature, which allows the user to increase the RAM up to 8GB giving a total of 16GB RAM. This allows the user to swipe and switch between apps at a greater speed. It comes with two storage options— 128GB and 256 GB. It also comes with the option to increase the storage via an external hybrid sim and storage slot.

Camera

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite features a triple camera setup on the back. It includes a huge 108MP Samsung S5KHM6SX03 sensor as the main camera, 2MP depth-assist camera and a 2MP macro lens. The main sensor is equipped with EIS for stable photos and videos. It can record 1080p video at 30 fps and 720p video at 30 fps. The features of the rear camera include AI scene enhancement, dual-view video, HDR, nightscape, portrait mode, pano, macro, slo-mo, time-lapse, text-scanner, retouching and filters.

For selfie photos and videos, it has a 16MP front camera which can record 1080p video at 30 fps and 720p video at 30 fps. It also includes features such as face unlock, screen flash, HDR, nightscape, portrait mode, pano, time-lapse, retouching and filters.

Battery and others

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite has a non-removable 5000mAh battery, which can be charged using a 67W SUPERVOOC charger found in the box, which can charge the phone from 0-80 per cent in around 30 minutes as claimed. The ports include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB 2.0, Type-C and a hybrid slot (sim and sim/microSD).

It has dual stereo speakers and noise cancellation support for better audio quality. The sensors include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, electric compass, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and a sensor core.

The phone is available in two colour options: pastel lime and chromatic grey.

The phone is available in Nepal and has a price tag of Rs 42,000 for the 8/128GB variant and Rs 46,000 for the 8/256GB variant.
