OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G: Mid-range option with sleek and simple design

OnePlus has launched the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G in Nepal. The smartphone is the successor of last year’s OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. The CE 4 Lite has some upgrades from the CE 3 Lite including display features, camera features, sensors, battery and colour options.

The Nord series has been popular in the Nepali market competing mostly in the budget and mid-range category. OnePlus has a separate fanbase all around the world. The flagship number series has been competing at the top level with other smartphone brands.

The Nord CE 4 Lite is set to compete against other smartphones under the mid-range category such as Honor X9b, Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G and Samsung Galaxy A25 5G. Let us see what the smartphone delivers in terms of specs.

Design and Display

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite has a slightly updated design from its predecessor; the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. The rear camera is now enclosed in a pill-shaped module which houses the dual camera setup. The plastic back has a matte finish, giving it a premium yet simple look with a flat design. The frame is also made of plastic and has a brushed metal finish.

Coming to the front, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite has a flat display with thin bezels on all sides. The display has a central hole punch cutout which houses the selfie camera. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution at 394 ppi. It has a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and a screen-to-body ratio of 92.2%. The display supports 100% sRGB and Display P3, ensuring accurate colours compatible with Amazon Prime Video HD and Netflix HD.

The display offers up to 2100 nits of peak brightness, making it easy to use even in bright sunlight. It includes features like eye comfort, different screen colour modes, brightness adjustments (both auto and manual) for user convenience, and dark mode to reduce eye strain in low-light conditions.

Performance and Storage

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset, built on a 6nm process. This processor features an octa-core setup with two high-performance Kryo 660 Gold cores running at 2.2 GHz and six energy-efficient Kryo 660 Silver cores at 1.7 GHz. It uses the Adreno 619 GPU for graphics, delivering smooth visuals and handling gaming and media tasks efficiently. The phone runs on OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14 giving the latest android features and security.

It comes with 8 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking and 256 GB of internal storage. It also has an external SD card slot which supports up to 2TB of external storage space.

Camera

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G’s main camera is a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor, offering a 1/1.95″ sensor size with a focal length equivalent to 25mm and a f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera supports both Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Multi Autofocus (CAF+PDAF) for quick and accurate focusing in different types of shooting conditions. The rear camera also has Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for steady photos and smooth videos.

The rear camera system includes a 2 MP depth-assist camera with an aperture of f/2.4 for added assistance for better portrait shots adding depth to the images. This camera setup is complemented by two rear LED lights with a single colour temperature for nighttime or low-light photography.

The main camera also supports a range of features, such as Night mode for better low-light photography, Pro mode for manual control, Panoramic, Portrait and Time-lapse modes. For video, the main camera records in 1080p at 30 fps, with additional options for 720p video and slow-motion capture at 120 fps.

The Nord CE 4 Lite’s selfie camera has a 16 MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a fixed focus for detailed selfie shots. It supports video recording at 1080p and 720p at 30 fps. The front camera also includes features such as Face Unlock, Screen Flash, Nightscape and Portrait mode, Time-lapse, Retouching and several filters for customizing selfies.

Battery and Others

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G is powered by a large 5500 mAh battery which provides a battery life of about 50 hours in a full charge. It supports 80W wired fast charging which charges the phone from 0-100% in about an hour. The charger is not available in the box and OnePlus Nepal has offered a 33W charger at Rs 600.

In terms of connectivity and audio, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.1 for reliable and fast wireless connections. It is compatible with both LTE and 5G networks, providing a smooth mobile experience. The smartphone features dual stereo speakers with noise cancellation support and a 300% Ultra Volume Mode for loud and clear audio.

The Nord CE 4 Lite retains the 3.5 mm headphone jack for wired audio. For added functionality, the device includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as sensors like a gyroscope, pedometer, geomagnetic sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and gravity sensor.

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G is available in three colour options; Super Silver, Ultra Orange and Mega Blue.

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite 5G costs Rs 41,999 for the available 8 GB RAM and 256GB storage option with the 33W charger sold separately for Rs 600.
