The Redmi Note 14 series is official in Nepal. The Redmi Note 14 series is the predecessor to the Redmi Note 13 series, which last year outdid a lot of competitors in the budget and midrange smartphone category. The Note series from Redmi has always been a fan favourite in Nepal with the value, features, and specs they are available in the price ranges. The Redmi Note 14 series launched this year includes the Redmi Note 14 4G, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, and the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G.

The budget series in the Note 14 series includes the Redmi Note 14 4G and the Redmi Note 14 5G. The Note 14 4G and the 5G differ on a lot of things like IP rating, chipset, rear camera, battery, and charging. The 5G variant is slightly better than the 4G version.

The Redmi Note 14 4G is the successor to the Redmi Note 13 4G. As a successor, there have been a few major changes alongside some adjustments, which have received mixed reactions from Note series enthusiasts. While the smartphone brings a new design and improvements in areas such as performance, build, and battery size, the screen bezels are slightly thicker, the rear camera setup has been modified, and the design takes a unique approach.

Design

The Redmi Note 14 4G has a slightly new, refreshed design with the change in the camera layout. The Note 13 4G has a simple and clean back panel with no camera bump. But in the Note 14 4G, the back of the smartphone has a camera bump for the camera rings. The back is made up of plastic and has a matte finish on the Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Lime Green colour options. The Mist Blue option has a shiny wavy pattern with a premium finish, which can be the most favoured option. The frame is made up of aluminium with a matte finish.

The front of the Redmi Note 14 4G is changed with the thicker bezels instead of thinner and equal bezels on the Redmi Note 13 4G. The hole-punch cutout is at the centre, which has the selfie camera. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 and a pixel density of 394 PPI. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, making scrolling and animations smooth, while the 240Hz touch sampling rate provides quick and responsive touch feedback. With a peak brightness of 1800 nits, it ensures great visibility even under bright sunlight and includes a High Brightness Mode (HBM) of 1200 nits for consistent performance.

The display of the Redmi Note 14 4G also supports a 100% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and an impressive contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, producing vibrant colours and deep blacks. To protect users’ eyes, it comes with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free, and circadian-friendly design. It also features 960Hz PWM dimming for comfortable viewing in low light and a Sunlight Display for outdoor readability. The screen is coated with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 for durability, offering strong resistance against scratches and impacts. It also has an IP rating of IP54 for dust and water resistance for further protection.

Performance and Storage

The Redmi Note 14 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra chipset, built on a 6nm process. The chip is good at the price range with decent performance features for day-to-day activities and light gaming. Its octa-core CPU features two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. For graphics, the smartphone is equipped with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

The Redmi Note 14 4G runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, based on Android 14, offering a clean, intuitive, and customisable user experience. It comes in two RAM and storage options: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage for everyday users and an upgraded 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

Camera

The Redmi Note 14 4G is equipped with a triple rear camera system with a main 108MP camera that features a large 1/1.67” sensor and f/1.76 aperture. It uses advanced pixel-binning technology to enhance low-light performance. The 2MP depth camera and 2MP macro camera, both with f/2.4 apertures, add creative options for capturing portrait shots with background blur and close-up details. Redmi has dropped the 8MP ultra-wide camera in the Note 13 4G for the 2MP depth camera. The rear camera supports video recording in 1080p at 60 fps or 30 fps, as well as 720p at 30 fps.

For selfies, the 20MP front camera offers decent clarity and detail. It has a 1/4″ sensor and f/2.2 aperture. The front camera supports video recording in 1080p at 30 fps and 720p at 30 fps, making it ideal for video calls and content creation. The Redmi Note 14 Series also has AI-powered features like AI Erase for seamless object removal and AI Sky to transform weather conditions in your photos effortlessly.

Battery and Others

The Redmi Note 14 4G is powered by a 5500mAh battery, giving a long-lasting performance throughout the day. It supports 33W wired charging, allowing for quick recharges and minimising downtime.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone includes Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless wireless communication. It supports LTE networks and offers a dual SIM option with a hybrid slot for additional flexibility. It features dual stereo speakers for immersive audio and retains the popular 3.5mm headphone jack. It includes an array of sensors, including an in-screen fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and IR blaster.

The Redmi Note 14 4G is available in four colours: Mist Purple, Lime Green, Midnight Black, and Ocean Blue.

The Redmi Note 14 4G is official in Nepal at Rs 24,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option and Rs 27,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option.
