With the start of 2025, Redmi has launched its popular Redmi Note 14 series in Nepal. The Note 14 series includes the Redmi Note 14 4G, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, and the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G. The Note 14 series is the successor to last year’s Note 13 series, which established itself as a top competitor in the Nepal market.

The base models of the Note 14 series introduce the Redmi Note 14 5G and the Redmi Note 14 4G. Both the models have changes and updates in terms of design, performance, and features. The design of both the 4G and the 5G variants is similar, with the major change in colour options. In terms of specifications and features, the major differences between the 4G and 5G variants are in the chipset, rear camera, battery, and charging.

As for the difference with the Redmi Note 14 5G’s predecessor, the Redmi Note 13 5G, the major updates come in between the build, chipset, camera, battery, and charging. The Note 14 5G with the upgraded specs and features will be a great contender in the sub-Rs 30,000 price category.

Design and Display

The Redmi Note 14 5G has a similar design to its 4G sibling, the Redmi Note 14 4G. As for changes from its predecessor, the Redmi Note 13 5G, the back is now slightly curved instead of a flat back panel. Also, the square camera module is now rounded at the edges to complement the back panel. In terms of material, it is plastic at the back, which has different designs according to the colour options. The Lavender Purple and Coral Green have a unique rectangular pattern with a mix of four shades of purple, creating a subtle gradient effect to the back panel. The Midnight Black colour on the other hand has a matte black colour finish.

The front of the Redmi Note 14 5G features a centered hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. The bezels are thin on the sides and top, with a slightly thicker chin at the bottom, delivering a premium look that aligns well within price segment.

It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a PPI of 394 offering clarity for videos, games, and everyday use. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz for smooth scrolling and responsive touch performance. It has a peak brightness of 2100 nits and HBM brightness of 1200 nits for proper visibility in various lighting conditions.

The display also supports the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, providing rich and accurate colors, and offers a high contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 for deeper blacks and brighter whites. The display also has features like 960Hz PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free performance, and circadian-friendly design. The SGS Eye Care Display certification ensures reduced eye strain, making it ideal for extended use.

The display of the Redmi Note 14 5G is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added durability. The IP64 dust and water resistance at the price range is a great addition for better safety.

Performance and Storage

The Redmi Note 14 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra chipset, built on a 6nm process. The chipset with its octa-core CPU which includes two high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz offers a balance of performance and efficiency, handling multitasking and gaming smoothly. The IMG BXM-8-256 GPU ensures smooth graphics performance, handling games and videos with ease. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, based on Android 14, providing a smooth and user-friendly experience. Redmi is set to provide 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.

In terms of storage, the Redmi Note 14 5G comes with two variants: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.

Camera

The Redmi Note 14 5G features a triple rear camera setup, led by a 108MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for steady and clear photos. The 1/1.67” sensor size and f/1.76 aperture allow for detailed and bright shots which is good in the price range. The rear camera uses 9-in-1 pixel binning technology, combining smaller pixels into larger ones for better image quality. Alongside the main camera, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, for capturing wide landscapes and group shots. A 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture is included for close-ups of small objects.

For video recording, the rear camera supports resolutions of 1080p and 720p, both at 30 fps with no support for 4K recording. Even though there is no 4K recording, the rear camera is suitable for everyday use and casual vlogging. On the front, the Redmi Note 14 5G has a 20MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 1/4.0″ sensor size. It captures decent and clear selfies. The front camera supports video recording at 1080p and 720p, both at 30 fps, making it ideal for quality video calls and social media content.

The camera has AI features for better functionality such as AI Erase which helps in smart object selection and removal and AI Sky which changes the sky according to the need. The camera also has Xiaomi Imaging Engine for faster startup and clear shots.

Battery and Others

The Redmi Note 14 5G is powered by a large 5110mAh battery which delivers great battery life for day-to-day use. It supports 45W wired charging for quick and efficient recharges. Redmi smartphone are known to have fast charging capabilities. Also the 45W charger is available in the box which is loved by many. For connectivity, the smartphone features dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) for fast internet speeds and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless pairing with other compatible devices. It supports LTE networks and offers a hybrid SIM slot, allowing users to choose between dual SIM functionality or adding extra storage with a microSD card.

The Redmi Note 14 5G is equipped with dual stereo speakers for an immersive audio experience and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired headphones. It comes with a range of sensors, including a Virtual proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, Electronic compass, IR blaster, Gyroscope and an In-screen fingerprint sensor.

As for colour options; the Redmi Note 14 5G is available in Phantom Purple, Mystique White, and Titan Black.

The Redmi Note 14 5G is official in Nepal at Rs 30,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant and Rs 35,999 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variants.
