Birgunj, February 5
The Parsa National Park has filed a case against two members of provincial parliaments–one each from Madhesh and Bagmati–on the charge of deer poaching.
An investigation team filed a case at the park office in southern Nepal last week, demanding action against Madhesh provincial assembly member Pramod Kumar Jayasawal, Bagmati provincial assembly member Shyam Bahadur Khadka and Parsa’s Sakhuwa Prasauni rural municipality’s former chair Pradeep Kumar Jayasawal among others.
The three politicians have not been arrested yet.
On December 19, 2022, the national park rangers arrested five persons red-handed while they were hunting a deer in the Jamuniya Khola area of the park.
Officials say the case might take around 1.5 to two years for a conclusion.
