Design and display
Poco X4 Pro 5G has seen a major change in terms of the design of the phone from its predecessor X3 Pro. It now has a glass front and a glass back as well. The back of the phone has seen a major change in design. Poco X4 Pro 5G has not carried the same circular camera panel but has opted for a rectangular one.
This device sports a premium design along with slim bezels and flat edges, making the overall design of the phone different. The big and awkward Poco branding also has been replaced in a more subtle way on the camera panel. The back of the phone now sports a refractive pattern that catches the light and gives it a unique reflection from the bottom corners. Furthermore, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and also has IP53 water and dust resistant certification. The phone weighs 205 grams and is 8.1mm thick.
Another major change on the phone is the display, Poco X4 Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch HDR 10 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,080*2,400 pixels. The display on the phone also features a 360Hz touch sampling rate. Using the phone in a broad daylight should also not be any problem as it can achieve a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. The display and back of the phone are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Cameras
Poco X4 Pro 5G features a triple camera setup on the back and has a single selfie shooter on the front. The main 108MP camera on the back is accompanied by an 8MP, 118 degrees ultrawide and 2MP macro lens. On the front, there is a 16MP camera with an aperture of f/2.4.
Though the phone has a bigger 108MP camera sensor, it can only record videos in 1080p up to 60fps. This goes the same for the front camera as well, but the frame rate is limited to 30fps only.
Performance and battery life
Poco X4 Pro 5G runs on Android 11 with MIUI 13 for POCO on top. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G (6nm) chipset, and the graphical performance are handled by Adreno 619. This is a new mid-range chipset from Qualcomm that offers high bandwidth and low latency. A decent gaming experience can be expected from this device.
The phone has a 5,000mAH non-removable Li-Po battery backup and supports a whooping 67W fast charger. This has tremendous charging power as it charges 30% of the phone in just 8 minutes and gets the phone fully charged in just 41 minutes. This can be a great deal for intense gamers.
Poco X4 Pro 5G also features a large LiquidCool copper pipe and multiple layers of graphite sheets for rapid heat dissipation and sustained cooling, allowing the device to run at high performance for a longer period.
Storage, connectivity and price
Poco X4 Pro 5G offers either 6GB or 8GB of RAM storage coupled up with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The memory can also be further expanded with a microSD card, but there is no dedicated slot for it. The phone also features dynamic RAM expansion technology. This allows the device to utilise storage as extra RAM, boosting the RAM up to 8GB and 11GB respectively giving the boost in performance.
For connectivity, the phone supports dual 5G sim cards. It further supports dual-band Wifi and is NFC enabled. The phone also can be connected to other devices through a USB Type-C 2.0 cable. As for the audio, Poco X4 Pro 5G offers dual stereo speakers and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The price of the Poco X4 Pro 5G is EUR 299 for 6/128GB and EUR 349 for the 8/256GB variant.
The phone is yet to arrive in Nepal. Poco X3 Pro’s starting price was Rs 31,999 for the base 6/128GB, but the price of Poco X4 Pro 5G can be expected higher as numerous features have been added to the phone. The starting price of the phone can be expected from Rs 42,000.
