Pokhara University Teaching Hospital inaugurated

Annapurna (Kaski), May 21

The Pokhara University Teaching Hospital (PUTH) established at Khudi of Lekhnath in Pokhara Metropolis-30 has been inaugurated. Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Khagraj Adhikari, opened the 100-bed teaching hospital on Monday.

It will run under the Pokhara University. Although the health facility had begun service partially since last August, it came into full operation on Monday. While inaugurating the hospital, CM Adhikari said the government had prioritised health insurance, so the hospital needs to provide service keeping in account the priority.

He urged the PUTU to deliver the best medical and health services to the needy. Registrar at the Pokhara University and Chairman of PUTH, Prof Dr Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, informed that the hospital was brought into operation to facilitate practical sessions for the students of medical science at the university. The health facility came into full operation after securing medical equipment of Rs 50 million. The building was constructed at Rs 70 million.
