Prachanda’s assessment: Employees are forgetting their duties, responsibilities

Kathmandu, April 3

UCPN-Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has accused employees of resorting to anarchy and indiscipline in the name of exercising trade union rights. Employees are forgetting their duties and responsibilities, he said, adding: Their activities are becoming political agendas.

Prachanda said this while addressing the fourth convention of the National Employees’ Organisation’s Pashupati Area Development Trust chapter. Employees are becoming anarchic and undisciplined in the name of their trade union rights, he noted, adding: This has affected the service to the public.

He accused employees’ organisations of not bothering to maintain fiscal discipline and serve the public effectively.

The new constitution has guaranteed everyone’s rights and there’s no need for anyone to launch a movement, he said, asking all to help implement the constitution by discharging their duties.
