Janakpur, April 28
The Province 2 government has expressed its objection to a recent statement of Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. It has claimed that the statement is unconstitutional.
Whereas Minister Thapa recently stated that the provincial government did not have any right to deploy its administrative official in a district, Province 2 Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Gyanendra Yadav said Thapa could not base himself on the constitution for the remark.
The two governments are seen at odds once again as the provincial government is reportedly preparing to make legal arrangements to position one official in each district, who would work much like the chief district officer of the federal government.
Speaking with journalists in Janakpur on Saturday, Thapa had commented that it would be unconstitutional.
“I humbly request the Minister to speak after studying the constitution,” Yadav responded to the remark today, “Please don’t speaking anything against the sentiments of federalism and republic.”
