Kathmandu, August 19
Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire has been cremated with state honours at Pashupati Aryaghat of Kathmandu this morning.
The greatest literary figure of contemporary Nepal had breathed his last on Tuesday evening, aged 101.
Before his body was taken to Aryaghat for the final rites, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel went to his residence in Lainchaur this morning and draped the national flag on his body, in honour of the national poet. At the ghat, a troop of Nepal Army had given him a round of salutes as the final tributes.
