Kathmandu, November 17
Various western hilly and mountainous districts of Nepal have reported snowfall and a sudden drop in temperatures on Monday and Tuesday, affecting daily life.
The national news agency, RSS, reports that the minimum temperature in upper Mustang has decreased to minus 20 degrees celsius. Some streams and ponds have looked frozen there whereas vehicular transportation has been halted.
Meanwhile, local farmers have been unable to feed their cattle properly as the grazing land is covered with snow.
In Manang, snowfall that began on Monday afternoon has not stopped, informs Chief District Officer Dhruva Giri. Some upper parts of the district have snow as thick as two metres, according to him.
Humla and Dolpa of Karnali, Rukum East of Lumbini, and Myagdi and Gorkha of Gandaki have also reported snowfall affecting life.
