Kathmandu, November 29
Artudio, in collaboration with the US Embassy, launched a book titled “Street Art Nepal: Ekatako Bhitta – The Wall of Unity” on Tuesday, November 28, in Kathmandu.
The 184-page book encompasses the activities, pictures, and history of Nepal’s art in the mural art project conducted by Artudio in collaboration with the US Embassy. Additionally, the book delves into the world of mural art, the Nepali environment, the influence of Western art styles on Nepali art, and a section on formal education.
The launch event was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the National Academy of Arts, Naradmanu Hartamchhali, and the Public Affairs Chief of the US Embassy, Garrett Wilkerson.
During the event, Vice-Chancellor Hartamchhali said that art should not be confined to homes but should be publicised among the people. He stated, “The launch of this book has motivated us to come up with better works and activities in the coming days.”
Similarly, Wilkerson said that the book has made a significant contribution to documenting the Nepali art scene. He noted that the book also covers the diversity of the country’s culture and art. “We are always ready to promote the art and culture of Nepal.”
