Kathmandu, September 14
The final rites of Former speaker and UML leader Subas Chandra Nembang have been performed at Aryaghat in Pashupati.
Nembang’s final rites were performed with state honours.
Before the cremation, Nembang’s family members paid their last respects. After that UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli draped the party flag on Nembang’s pyre and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal also draped the national flag on his pyre.
His funeral was done according to Mundhum and Hindu culture.
In the procession, the vehicle carrying his mortal remains was followed by the Nepali Army’s musical band. A large number of people were seen in Pashupati to pay their respects to Nembang.
To mourn his death, the government has declared a public holiday across the country today.
