Nepalgunj, January 28
Flights from Nepalgunj airport to Kathmandu, Pokhara and the mountain districts have been obstructed for a second consecutive day. Civil Aviation Office Nepalgunj has informed that heavy fog has affected flights since Saturday.
Despite the requirement of 1,600 meters of visibility for air travel, the flights have not taken place due to only eight meters of visibility. Passengers are currently stranded at the airport, waiting for the weather to improve.
About 1,000 passengers are stranded at Nepalgunj airport.
There are three Buddha Air flights, two Shree Airlines flights, and one Yeti Air flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu. Additionally, Nepal Airlines, Summit Air, and Tara Air operate flights from Nepalgunj to Mugu, Jumla, Humla, Dolpa, and Bajura.
