Bharatpur, November 27
A tiger which is believed to have killed two people in Makwanpur has been relocated to Chitwan.
Chitwan National Park‘s information officer, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, said a female wild cat of around 10 years of age was tranquillized using darting techniques on Sunday night.
The animal was taken under control from Manahari Rural Municipality-6. It is believed that the tiger killed two men on Friday and Sunday.
Officials believe the tiger killed Hari Prasad Poudel, a 43-year-old resident of Dubichaur in Rapti Municipality-1, Chitwan. In the course of searching for Poudel, authorities discovered the remains of another male in Dobhan, situated between the Rapti and Lothar rivers.
The wild beast has been captured and relocated to Kasara.
Tiwari said they are seeking suitable space within the national park to accommodate the tiger as all enclosures in the Park were occupied.
Presently, there are four tigers in Kasara and two in Sauraha. Prior to this, the park sent three tigers to Parsa, Banke and Bardiya National Parks due to space constraints.
