Kathmandu, October 17
A record was set on Monday at Tribhuvan International Airport.
A total of 114 international flights/landings took place from this airport on Monday. The Tribhuvan Airport office said that this is the highest number of flights/landings in a single day.
In one day, this airport has handled 16,509 passengers.
It is currently the festive season in Nepal, and along with it, the tourist season has also commenced which has made the airport extremely busy.
With roads out of Kathmandu poorly maintained, many have decided to fly home. Domestic airline companies are currently experiencing nearly full capacity in one direction.
