Kathmandu, April 25
The main opposition CPN-UML has blamed the ruling coalition members Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre for the delay in post-earthquake reconstruction efforts.
UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal, who represents the main opposition and holds the position of Vice-Chairman in the National Reconstruction Commission Steering Committee as well, said in a statement issued on the occasion of the second anniversary of the magnitude-7.6 earthquake today that the ruling alliance left the NRA in instability and confusion, thereby obstructing the reconstruction works.
Mentioning that the NRA Steering Committee’s meeting has not been held for last two months, Rawal urged the population affected by the devastating earthquake two years ago to keep vigil on the reconstruction efforts.
He also demanded that the government and the NRA do not politicise the rebuilding campaign.
