Kathmandu, May 2
Candidates of major parties have filed nominations for upcoming local level elections in Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
Nepali Congress filed the nominations of Chiribabu Maharjan and Gita Satyal for the positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively.
The main opposition CPN-UML fielded Hari Krishna Byanjankar for Mayor. It has been learned that the party would support the candidate of Rastriya Prajatantra Party for the position of Deputy Mayor as an agreement between the two parties.
Likewise, the CPN-Maoist Centre fielded Dinesh Maharjan Dipesh and Hasina Shakya for the positions.
The party’s had earlier decided to field Manjali Shakya for the position of Deputy Mayor. But, her name was not found registered in the voters’ list.
