Kathmandu, July 24
CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal says his party might directly jump to the position of biggest political force if all Maoist forces get united.
Therefore, he has called breakaway factions led by Mohan Baidya, Baburam Bhattarai and Netra Bikram Chand to join hands together and make the Maoist party biggest again.
“As we were the first party in the first Constituent Assembly elections and the third in the second one,” he said while addressing a function at the party headquarters in Kathmandu today, “I can see that it is not impossible for the Maoist party to become the first again.”
He was of the view that the party should lead the country after unifying all progressive and revolutionary forces.
Meanwhile, Dahal claimed that all three fringe parties were positive to continue talks for unification after his recent call.
“Still staying out [of the unified party] is a betrayal to the nation, people and the Communist movement,” he said, “Let’s sit together, review and draft a plan for the days to come.”
