Kathmandu, May 30
Endemol Shine India, a leading content production company, has partnered with Nepal’s K Films and ME 2 Films to jointly produce the second season of the world’s highest-altitude fashion show — Mt Everest Fashion Runway.
The fashion show will kickstart in September 2021 at an altitude of over 5,800 metres in the Mt Everest region at -30-degree Celsius and less than 50 per cent oxygen present in the atmosphere.
The first season of the show had taken place at Kala Patthar near the Everest base camp in January 2020. It was themed around climate change and created a lot of buzz with its range of sustainable fashion showcased by participants from 18 countries.
Nepal was also awarded a new Guinness World Record for hosting the highest-altitude fashion show on land ever.
The fashion show is the brainchild of Pankaj K Gupta, the CEO of K FIlms who is also mentoring the contestants walking up Everest, and is organised by Ramila Nemkul, the COO of K FIlms and Riken Maharjan, the CFO of K Films. The series is being directed by Shruti Anindita Vermaa and Amitabh S Verma of ME 2 Films.
