Kathmandu, March 5
At the ongoing 13th general convention of the Nepali Congress, 63 candidates vying for central working committee positions have withdrawn their candidatures, according to the election committee. For 64 CWC positions, 375 candidates had fielded their candidaturs.
Three candidates each have fielded candidates for the posts of party President and General Secretary, whereas four candidates are in the fray for the post of treasurers. Saturday afternoon is the deadline for the withdrawal of candidatures. But candidates fighting for office-bearer positions have not withdrawn their candidatures.
