Kathmandu, January 11
Police arrested folk singer Rekha Shah and her husband on the basis of a complaint, on Sunday evening.
Kathmandu police arrested the two after Subas Raj Kafle complained with police, accusing the singer of Simsime Panima fame and her husband of issuing threats to him.
The two had given loan to Sandip Raj Kafle, son of Subas, for gambling in the casino, according to police. They had approached Subas seeking loan repayment after Sandip went out of contact, unable to pay back the loan.
The two are in the custody of Metropolitan Police Circle, Kathmandu, where an investigation is underway. Rekha has ‘proof’ of the loan — Rs 73 lakh — that she provided to Sandip.
