Call it just a coincidence or the order of the providence. The Nepali date of Magh 27 has a huge significance in the life of former prime minister and Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala.
Two years ago on this day, Koirala got elected as prime minister with support from the CPN-UML, leaving behind his reclusive role inside the party and giving governance a try. Exactly two years later, his final rites have taken place with state honours.
On his election as prime minister two years ago, Koirala received congratulatory messages from different sections. At that time, he was covered with garlands and khada. Exactly two years later, his body got covered with garlands, leaving behind party cadres and well-wishers deep in sorrow.
