Kathmandu, February 10
Nephew Atul consigned former prime minister and Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala to flames, at Pashupati Aryaghat, on Wednesday.
Earlier, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli wrapped the national flag around Koirala’s body and paid final tributes as the national anthem played and the Nepali Army offered a guard of honour.
Aryaghat is full of Koirala’s well-wishers. Among those present there are Congress leaders and cadres, activists of other political parties, ministers, lawmakers, securocrats, diplomats, relatives, businesspeople and commoners.
Earlier, the funeral procession reached Aryaghat after passing through Thapathali, Putalisadak, Kamalpokhari, Maitidevi, Gaushala.
Koirala had passed away at his residence in Maharajgunj at 12.50 am on Monday.
