Those, who do not have booked tickets at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati, will have their eyes glued to TV screens, for today’s the day when Nepal play against their traditional arch rival, India, in their bid to claim the South Asian Games 2016’s crowning glory — a Gold in the SAG football.
Nepal have got this close to a SAG football Gold after a period of 17 years. And they want to make the best of this occasion by defeating the Indian team in their home ground.
The Nepali team have a high morale after defeating the Maldives in a competition of international standards.
Coach of the team, Raju Kaji Shakya, said the Nepali team have the historic opportunity to defeat their rivals in their home ground. Nepal had won SAG football championships in 1984 and 1993. The game will begin at 7.15 pm.
