Kathmandu, March 21
Nepal and China have reached an understanding on joint exploration of petroleum products and gas.
As per an agreement reached in Beijing on Monday, China will provide technical support for oil exploration in Nepal.
Different studies have indicated there may be petroleum deposits in different parts of the country, but oil exploration is in its infancy in the country. With Chinese assistance, oil and gas exploration is expected to gain pace.
The understanding is expected to benefit Nepal in the long run.
