New York, April 21
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa, has arrived in New York. During his stay in New York, Thapa will address the United Nations General Assembly.
Apart from this, Thapa will also take part in programmes that cadres of his party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, are organising, Lok Tiwari, coordinator of an RPP affiliate based abroad, said.
DPM Thapa will also take part in a greetings exchange programme organised on the occasion of New Year 2073 BS, Mohan Gyawali of the Nepalese Events Corp, the programme organiser, said.
His wife and Bharat Kumar Regmi, under-secretary at the Foreign Ministry, are accompanying him.
Earlier, Nepalis based abroad, Nepal’s representative to the United Nations, representatives of the Nepali consulate based in New York and representatives of diasporic organisations had welcomed Thapa at John F Kennedy International Airport.
