Kathmandu, May 1
In a bid to reach an understanding on formation of the parliamentary hearing special committee, Speaker Onsari Gharti held discussions with leaders of three major political parties on Sunday.
Speaker Gharti talked with CPN-UML Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, President of the main opposition Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba and UCPN-Maoist Chair Prachanda at her secretariat.
Due to differences between chiefs of the three major parties, the process of forming regulations governing PHSC has been delayed, Gharti said, adding that this will delay the appointment of ambassadors and officials of constitutional bodies.
After the talks, Deuba said he will respond to Gharti after holding a meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party’s executive committee. A meeting of the regulations drafting committee has been called on Monday to take a decision on the regulations. Gharti said: The leaders of the three parties have pledged to arrive at a conclusion before that meeting.
Earlier, Gharti had held separate talks with the chiefs of the three parties regarding the delay in formulation of regulations governing the PHSC.
