Kathmandu, July 21
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the party’s lawmakers to retaliate if CPN-UML lawmakers try to create troubles during passage of the no-confidence motion tabled against the KP Oli government in the Parliament. Deuba’s directive comes right after Congress Chief Whip Chinkaji Shrestha, speaking at a meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party on Thursday morning, directed NC lawmakers not to protest even if UML lawmakers encircle the rostrum.
Speaking after Shrestha, Deuba came heavily on the UML, pointing: That party always seeks to court trouble.
The UML created a similar scene during tabling of the no-confidence motion against the Manmohan Adhikari government, Deuba pointed.
Passing Bills after a government has lost confidence does not make sense, he said, directing party lawmakers to be ready to teach UML lawmakers a lesson if they try to create trouble.
Deuba, though, was not clear on ways to deal with ‘troublemakers’.
