Kathmandu, August 28

Better days are ahead for Barpak, the ‘epicentre’ of last year’s quakes that left behind a trail of deaths and devastations, it appears.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has promised to take initiatives for transforing the village in Gorkha district into an international tourist attraction.

He said this while talking to a delegation from Barpak at PM’s official residence in Baluwatar. On the occasion, Dahal stressed the need to rebuild the historic Barpak as per the integrated plan.

The whole world knows about Barpak now, the PM said, reiterating his full support for turning the village into the international tourist destination.
