Kathmandu, October 25
The main opposition CPN-UML has decided to hold discussions with other political parties in an effort to pass the impeachment motion against suspended CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman Singh Karki through the Parliament.
At the meeting of the UML Parliamentary Party held in Singhadurbar on Tuesday, the party decided to firmly stand in favour of the motion. UML Chair KP Sharma Oli said at the meeting that the Nepali Congress will be forced to support the motion, though it is undecided on the issue at present.
Speakers at the meeting said NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba is under internal and external pressure vis-a-vis impeachment motion.
The meeting decided to build an understanding for passage of the motion through the Parliament by holding discussions with political parties represented in the Parliament, UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai informed.
