Former King Gyanendra to visit Singapore, India

Kathmandu, November 9

Nepal’s former King Gyanendra Shah is preparing to embark on a visit to India, on Wednesday.

According to his personal secretary Sagar Timalsena, Shah will be accompanied by daughter-in-law Himani.

He informed that the former monarch will visit Singapore en route to India, and stay on the island for two weeks. Timalsena had visited India ahead of the Dashain festival in Nepal in October to make arrangements for the visit.

Shah, who had remained silent for a long time after being dethroned, recently made a public speech warning of popular revolt if political parties did not mend their ways.
