Kathmandu, November 10
CPN-UML leader and former Speaker Subas Nembang said on Thursday that Nepal’s newly-appointed Ambassador to China, Leelamani Poudel, should play a coordinating role for the implementation of agreements that then KP Oli government had signed with China. He said this at a programme organised to congratulate Ambassador Poudel.
Nembang said Nepal has historical relations with China and added that there is a need to deepen the ties. He said Nepal wants to be a bridge between China and India.
On the occasion, Ambassador Poudel said he will work in Nepal’s interest and for Nepal’s development by safeguarding national independence and sovereignty. He said he will do every bit for implementation of deals then government had signed with China.
UML leader Ananda Prasad Pokharel said there’s a need to focus on implementation of Nepal-China deals by strengthening bilateral relations. He stressed the need to implement deals on development of Nepal-China railway links and Nepal’s development.
