Rupandehi, December 30

Inspector General of Police Upendra Kanta Aryal said on Friday that Nepal Police will soon launch a special security strategy for the Bhairahawa region, Rupandehi district. Aryal, speaking at an interaction that FNCCI (Bhairahawa) had organised, acknowledged that criminal activities have increased in the industrial and tourist town of Bhairahawa. The Nepal Police chief said they will prepare and implement the security strategy within a week.

Aryal said the strategy will help discourage criminal activites and bring the guilty to justice. He directed Sher Bahadur Basnet, senior superintendent of police (Lumbini zone), to prepare the special security strategy.

At the programme, entrepreneurs, industrialists and journalists pointed that the security situation was worsening alarmingly in Rupandehi district. IGP Aryal assured to provide what he called ‘full security’ in the district.

Nepal Police is always committed to providing security to the public, he said, pledging to nip crime syndicates, which are trying to raise their heads, in the bud. Aryal said search operations for those involved in shooting at industrialist Kul Prasad Neupane and industrialist as well as Youth Association Nepal (Rupandehi) chair Durga Tiwari are underway. Aryal promised to make the criminals involved in the acts public soon.
