Kathmandu, January 5
Hours after sacking of Sushil Gyawali, CEO of National Reconstruction Authority, CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli accused the Prachanda government of removing Gyawali illegally after he refused to provide funds to leaders of the ruling parties in the name of training programmes.
Speaking at a press conference organised at the UML office on Thursday to inform about the party’s protest programmes in the Capital, he said the removal of NRA CEO is illegal.
The government fired Gyawali as he refused to provide money to leaders of ruling parties in the name of training and donate funds to organisations close to these parties

At the same time, Oli also blamed the Ministry of Finance for not allocating budget required to the reconstruction authority.
Oli maintained that the government formed under the leadership of Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre had shown its dislike for Gyawali from the very beginning. He reiterated that NRA CEO’s removal is against the law and accused the government of undermining the welfare of earthquake victims.
The Prachanda administration had accused Gyawali of failing to work in the interest of quake victims. It had charged him with turning the NRA into a recruitment centre for CPN-UML activists
