Nepal likely to sign OBOR agreement with China on Sunday

Kathmandu, March 19

Nepal is likely to sign a formal agreement with China on President Xi Jinping’s flagship One Belt One Road project on Sunday.

Prime Minister Prachanda will meet President Xi in Beijing on Sunday after arriving in Beijing from the Boao Forum. Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat will also accompany Prachanda.

It is, however, unlikely that any other agreement, including the one trade and transit protocol, would be signed during Prachanda’s visit to the northern neighbour as Premier Li Keqiang will be on an official visit to New Zealand when the Nepali Prime Minister arrives in the Chinese Capital.
