The main opposition CPN-UML has warned the government not to sign any agreement, which could have long-term impacts on the country, with any foreign country as the current coalition will stay in power for few months only.
The opposition lawmakers also tried to obstruct the House proceedings today claiming agreements signed to conclude the detail project report of Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project and extend gas and petroleum pipelines were against national interests.
They, however, did not obstruct the meeting as the Speaker ordered the PM to furnish the legislative body with answers to the questions raised by the opposition in the next meeting.
“Dear Prime Minister, you should remember that your days are numbered,” UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal said, “From where did you get rights to do whatever you wanted?”
Meanwhile, the opposition also accused the government of transferring staff haphazardly going against the election code of conduct.
Rawal said Home Minister Janardan Sharma and General Administration Minister Tek Bahadur Basnet decided transfers to fulfill their vested interests.
