Kathmandu, September 7
The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, which had boycotted the first and second phases of local level elections in May and June, has made public its manifesto for the third phase of polls scheduled for September 18, on Thursday.
Unexpectedly enough for many, the manifesto seems more aggressive towards the ruling CPN-Maoist Centre though the main opposition CPN-UML has also been portrayed as an anti-Madheshi force as it blocked the constitution amendment bill in Parliament.
The documents said the Maoist Centre does not believe in democratic system and has a policy to seize the state power. “The Maoist party’s major character is anti-federalist as it believes in authoritarianism and totalitarianism.”
The Maoists have been blamed for corruption, insecurity and anarchy prevalent in the country.
RJPN presidium member, Rajendra Mahato, however, says the party has not named any force as the major enemy. He claims the party has thanked ruling Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre for supporting the amendment bill the government had brought in a bid to address demands of his party.
But, the Congress has also been criticised in the document claiming is not committed to federalism and inclusive democracy.
