Kathmandu, January 18
CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli says his party has not consented to the government decision to appoint province chiefs and name temporary provincial capitals.
Speaking with journalists at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival from Bangkok of Thailand, the former prime minister said his party had consented to the government’s plan to make the decisions, but the names were never discussed and agreed on.
Responding to a journalist’s query that if the new leftist government would cancel the appointments, Oli just said the new government would take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time.
“The decision will consider appropriateness, need and possibility.”
In another context, he said his health was good now. Oli was in Bangkok for a regular followup checkup.
