At a time when everyone likes to eat out, more and more people want to go out to a family restaurant in Kathmandu. There was a time when you’d call your relatives over for a family dinner at home, but now you want to enjoy dinner at a family restaurant without the hassle of cooking food and doing the dishes.
Dining Park, located in Old-Baneshwor, is one such restaurant. It spacious and has a diverse menu perfect for a family night out. Open from 6 AM to 10 PM, the restaurant is also ideal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bakery/coffee shop, meanwhile, is a place where you can meet people for business.
The multi-cuisine opened in 2016 to cater to the residents of Baneshwor. The main idea was to provide enough seating and abundant parking. The restaurant serves Nepali, Indian, Chinese and continental cuisine and is brimming with families on any evening.
What makes Dining Park stand out is they also offer rooms where patrons can host private parties like birthdays, anniversaries. Dinning Park has various seating areas and can easily accommodate over 100 people in its open terrace, garden, fine dining and private dining areas.
Over the past year, the place has also hosted corporate events such as meetings and conferences at the banquet area, which can accommodate up to 400 people. The manager says that they also have one state-of-the-art boardroom equipped has a touch board and an HD projector.
The menu has an array of items to choose from. We went for the specials. To start with, we tried the spicy chicken wings, one of the signature dishes of the restaurant. The dish looked enticing and aromatic. It was nicely spiced, savoury and full of flavours. Although it looked spicy, it is quite ideal for even those who don’t like spicy food. It’s a dish which will get your hands dirty but the taste will make you lick your fingers. An ideal appetizer!
The other appetizer we tried was the Mustang ko piro aloo. Unlike other Mustange aloo, this one was different in both appearance and taste. The potato was seasoned with herbs and was quite tasty. You can even ask the chef to tone down the spices if you want it mild. All in all, it is a good appetizer for vegetarians.
For the mains, we tried their special fish dish. The dish looked and smelt good and was tender. The gravy in the Chinese fish dish was spicy and full of flavours to appease the Nepali taste buds. The stir-fried dish is bold, pungent and came with a mellow fragrance which makes for a good main course.
The bakery at Dining Park has a host of dessert items to indulge in. The bakery also offers a 40% discount after 7 PM.
At a time when most restaurants are of full of youngsters smoking and drinking and making noise, this place is perfect for those who like to enjoy their meal quietly. The place also has live music on Fridays where their band B-Beats plays soft Nepali, English and Hindi songs.
The restaurant also hosts an organic mart every Saturday from 7am -11am .
