Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli says ministers and senior bureaucrats cannot get their job done by just executing orders, rather they have to be proactive to take the works ahead quickly.
Oli said so while reviewing the performance of various ministries at his office on Thursday. He had begun assessing the works of each ministry on Wednesday.
“Rather than implementing the order, your work should be quick, following due procedures,” Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada quoted the Prime Minister to say, “He has requested the ministers not to entangle themselves in the name of legal process.”
On the second day of evaluation today, discussions were held on activities of Ministry of Water Supply; Ministry of Youth and Sports; Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security; Ministry of Forest and Environment; and Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
The Prime Minister also directed the ministers to improve inter-ministry cooperation to improve efficiency, according to Khatiwada.
