Kathmandu, December 6
The government of Nepal has decided to convert the house of Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota into a museum.
A Cabinet meeting held earlier this week made the decision to convert the house in Maitidevi of Kathmandu into the museum to showcase belongings and property of late poet.
The government spokesperson, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota, informed about the decision during a press meeting held in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Banskota informed that the Ministry of Urban Development has been assigned to construct a landfill site in Bancharedanda of Nuwakot district for the waste management of Kathmandu.
Likewise, the government has decided to relocate the ministers’ quarters from Pulchok to Bhainsepati of Lalitpur. State guest houses will be constructed in the land where minsters’ residences are located currently.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to sign an agreement with Sri Lanka about the publication of postage stamps, according to the Minister.
The Cabinet also made some political appointments.
