Months after the erstwhile UML and Maoist Centre parties decided to enter into a merger, leaders of the new party have finally agreed on the unification modality at the local level.
The party, which is giving finishing touches to the proposal, is preparing to make the merger plan public after c0-chairman Prachanda returns from the United States. According to a source, which group (CPN -Maoist or CPN-UML) gets which district has already been decided.
A senior leader told Onlinekhabar that 45 out of the 77 districts will be under erstwhile UML while the remaining 32 will be under the former Maoists. The senior leader also added that this proposal was forwarded to the party secretariat by PM KP Sharma Oli. However, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal hasn’t given his approval to the proposal.
