Kathmandu, March 24
A group of investors on Sunday staged a demonstration at the office of Securities Board of Nepal, obstructing daily functioning of the regulatory body.
The group which has recently announced a protest for what it calls the development and expansion of share market has staged a sit-in at the Jawalakhel-based office.
As the demonstrators locked the entrance of the office, the staffers could not report to their desk on time. They spent the morning basking in the sun.
One of the staff was locked up inside.
The protestors unlocked the office after protesting for around two hours.
The demonstrators demanded that Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Chiranjibi Nepal and SEBON Chair Rewat Bahadur Karki resign.
They have claimed that Khatiwada is against the growth of capital market and the market cannot grow until he is sacked.
