The government has changed the entry point of Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track on the Kathmandu side. The decision was made in order to save the local Sikali Temple and Kodesh area in Karyabinayak of Lalitpur district.
The Nepal Army, which has been entrusted to carry out the ambitious project, informs that the detailed project report recently approved by the Cabinet mentions that the temple and Kodesh area will be protected and the entry point will be changed.
Meanwhile, the government also changed the plan for Chhokredanda-Lanedanda section. The donor, Asian Development Bank, had proposed to construct a 1.37 km tunnel there; but now it has been revised and there will be three tunnels instead.
According to the revised DPR, the project will cost Rs 175 billion.
