Kathmandu, March 19
Hotel and tourism entrepreneurs in Bagmati province have requested the government to cover half the salary expenses of their staff.
The request has been put forward after the tourism business saw a massive hit from the growing coronavirus threat worldwide. They have also asked for a 50 per cent discount on electricity, water, tax and VAT, and customs, for the time being.
Likewise, stating that they are having trouble paying off the loan to the banks, they have sought out help from the bank as well, asking for consideration in their instalments. In a statement released on Wednesday, they requested the government to cover the expenses via the Social Security Fund.
