In contrast to his foreign affairs minister’s statement that the government was aware of India constructing a link road to Manasarovar of Tibet encroaching on the Nepali territory in Kalapani region, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli says he was not reported about it.
During a cabinet meeting held this afternoon, the prime minister reportedly said that he learned about Darchula chief district officer reporting to the government about the issue through newspaper reports.
However, Oli maintained the dispute was an old issue and stressed it should be settled diplomatically.
Though Nepal and India are holding talks about the issue regularly, the issue did not get resolved due to India’s ill intent, he complained.
